Chapter 414 - 245: Impossible for a Wizard Influence to Arise_2
Sherman was well-prepared, using Mage’s Hand to catch Andrew.
"Merit is in hand!" Sherman smiled broadly.
Cole also managed a slight smile, putting away Black Thunder.
Now that the energy particle concentration on the Starlight Continent has normalized, recharging witchcraft artifacts is no longer an issue.
It takes only four or five days to recharge after use.
"Catching this guy earns enough contribution points to exchange for two to three years’ use of a top-tier training room."
"I’d rather exchange it for a Crystal Soul Potion."
As the two were conversing, their expressions suddenly changed, and they turned to see two figures appearing out of thin air in the void, revealing themselves to be the secret puppet girls from the Witch Hunting Legion.
Seeing this, Sherman smiled slightly, using Mage’s Hand to toss the unconscious Andrew over.
"I’ll leave him to you, take him back to the detention area."
...
Starlight Wizard Tower, study room.
Lize sat behind the desk, resting with her eyes closed until Attila entered, at which point she opened her eyes and spoke calmly.
"How’s it going?"
"Master, Sherman and Cole happened to be near Karen City, and before the Witch Hunting Legion arrived, the wizard from the Dark Throne had already been captured by them. Now, she is being escorted over by the secret puppet."
Lize smiled faintly: "Those two youngsters are quite proactive."
Attila replied with a smile: "Sherman and Cole have just been promoted to wizards, and they need contribution points for many things, which is why they’re so motivated."
Lize gave Attila a half-smile, saying: "No need for your little reminders; I won’t forget their achievements. You should record their merit and convert it to the corresponding contribution points."
Having his intentions exposed by Lize, Attila smiled sheepishly and nodded in agreement.
Lize then changed the subject: "How’s the investigation going?"
Addressing the serious matter, Attila’s expression immediately became solemn, speaking seriously: "According to the monitoring by the Eye of the Stars, fourteen unrecorded energy particle fluctuations broke out on the Starlight Continent over the past day, with two fluctuations reaching Level 2 Wizard Apprentice standards, eight reaching Level 3 Wizard Apprentice standards, and only four reaching Level 1 Wizard standards."
"I’ve dispatched the nearby golem legions to capture the source of the energy particle fluctuations, and additionally, the Witch Hunting Legion is on the way. With the teleportation array available, they should be able to arrive soon."
Lize nodded satisfactorily.
The Eye of the Stars makes assessments of target strength levels entirely based on the intensity of energy particle fluctuations during the target’s eruption, and doesn’t necessarily reflect the target’s true strength.
For instance, a wizard casting a Tier Zero Magic might only have energy particle intensity at Level 2 Wizard Apprentice standards, so in the monitoring of the Eye of the Stars, it would be categorized as Level 2 Wizard Apprentice standards.
So the fourteen energy particle fluctuations detected by the Eye of the Stars perhaps all come from the Dark Throne wizards.
However, it doesn’t matter. With the Star Alliance’s current power, not just ten or so Level 1 wizards, but even a hundred, they have the confidence to completely eradicate them.
...
Aurora City.
This was once the capital of the Aurora Empire.
After the Aurora Empire was conquered by the Star Empire, Aurora City was incorporated into the Empire’s territory.
Seven hundred years have passed, and all traces of the Aurora Empire have long been nearly erased from this city, with its residents only knowing of the Star Empire, and proudly identifying as citizens of the Empire.
Today, however, the once peaceful and prosperous city erupted into a fierce battle.
The combatants were a large group of skeletal humanoid creatures and hundreds of golems.
These skeletal humanoid creatures appeared to be draped in filthy red cloth, exposing only two glaringly pale skeletal arms, yet their frames were extraordinarily tall and robust, with each finger resembling razor-like claws, at least half a meter long.
More astonishingly, these slender, razor-sharp claws could freely extend and even instantaneously elongate to seven or eight meters, piercing through an enemy’s body!
Unfortunately, their opponents were indestructible Steel Golems, and even Refined Gold Golems.
The razor-sharp bone claws only left a notch about an inch deep when hitting the Steel Golems.
As for the Refined Gold Golems, they couldn’t even leave a white mark.
High above the battlefield’s broad street, Milton scrutinized the slaughter below, his brow furrowed.
The bone-claw legion from the Dark Throne is renowned throughout the multiverse, having conquered countless dimensions.
Upon invading the Starlight Continent, he had sealed two hundred bone-claws with a secret technique to bring along, convinced that they would be enough to suppress any country on the Starlight Continent, only to find that even a city’s garrison could fight his bone-claw legion to a standstill.
"Those two hundred Steel Golems can be considered, but those seven Refined Gold Golems, clearly enchanted and their spells made permanent, definitely weren’t crafted by Level 3 Wizard Apprentices; their creator is most likely an Official Wizard!"
"Could it be that the Starlight Continent has produced an Official Wizard?"
Milton found it hard to believe.
He was well aware of how harsh the environment on the Starlight Continent was, even though the energy particle concentration has been continuously rising over the past two to three hundred years, it theoretically shouldn’t be enough to birth wizards.
After all, resources on the Starlight Continent are extremely scarce.
Yet the facts unfolding before him proved it was incontrovertibly true.
Milton suddenly realized that something unforeseen might have occurred on the Starlight Continent.
He initially intended to interrogate a noble lord for information, but before he could act on it, scarcely after stepping into this town, a squad of golems had surrounded him.
